Sisters Of Charity Of St Anne

Introduction To The Congregation of The Sisters of Charity of St. Anne

The Congregation of the sisters of Charity of St.Anne of Zaragoza, was the first Religious congregation of active life in Spain. In the call God made to our Founders Fr.Juan Bonal Cortada and Mother Maria Rafols Bruna, the Congregation was born on 28th December 1804, in Zaragoza, Spain, in the Holy Royal General Hospital of Our Lady of Grace. This Hospital was founded by King Alphonso V the wise and was named “Domus Infirmorum, urbis et orbis” – The House of the sick, of the community and the world. The kings and Popes had honored it with all kinds of titles.
The Indian Mission was established in Nadidad, Gujarat, on 14th January 1951.
The Province of Mother Pabla Bescos Northern India was born on May, 1996 from the parent Province of Fr,John Bonal.

Mother Pabla Bescós

Pabla Bescos Espierrez is a name interwoven in the twilight of every day; it is a story blended into the simple everyday. A woman on the move. This is how we can define her. A bridge between the 19th and 20th centuries, a link between the first Sisters and all those who would later arrive, a platform to launch the Congregation towards horizons without limits.

“By the noise we make, no one may know that we exist.” — M. Pabla
Yet through each quiet act of kindness, we extend our reach, bringing hope, care, and compassion to those most in need. Inspired by the life of Jesus and the example of our Founder, and guided by the charism of universal charity toward the poorest and most needy, with an “ever-adaptable apostolic availability,” we serve with love, humility, and dedication.

Through our ministries in education, healthcare, social services, and spiritual development, we strive to make a meaningful and lasting impact in the lives of those we serve. ...

fully embraced the spirit of “Missio Ad Gentes” generously committing itself to the wider mission of the Church.
From those humble beginnings, we built a vibrant and flourishing mission. Through prayer, sacrifice, and untiring service, we laid a strong foundation that transformed lives, strengthened communities, and spread the message of faith, hope, and love across this land. What began as a small seed grew into a great tree of service. Like our founders and first sisters bequeathed us a specific style of living charity, made service, “With the greatest Care” with all love” seeing Christ in every person.
Opening Ceremony of the Platinum Jubilee
With deep gratitude, we celebrated the opening of our Platinum Jubilee, honouring our pioneering sisters and thanking God for seventy-five years of faithful presence and mission in India. The celebration became a joyful proclamation of God’s enduring faithfulness and a renewed commitment to continue our legacy of service for generations to come.
Our Jubilee theme, “Legacy of Service, Inspiring the Future,” beautifully expresses this journey. The legacy we celebrate is not only remembered — it is continued. As those before us proclaimed God’s mighty deeds through their lives, so we move forward with courage and hope. In unveiling the Jubilee logo, we revealed a story of faith transformed into mission and sacrifice blossoming into service — a strong foundation carrying us into the future. As seventy-five balloons were released into the sky, each one symbolized a year of grace, lives touched, and love shared, rising as a hymn of praise to God.
As we celebrate the past, we recommit ourselves in the present and look to the future with bold faith. Trusting in God’s unfailing guidance, we joyfully declare open the Platinum Jubilee Year, marking seventy-five blessed years of faithful presence and mission in this land.
May our legacy of service continue to inspire generations to come. Let us walk forward together in Love in Action, under God’s ever-faithful care.
“The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” (Psalm 126:3)
